Nurses lost my chart twice during an emergency visit, while waiting in emergency department -- Surgery was done promptly afterwards. Dr. Powers and his staff were amazing!! (Dr. Powers and his staff are the only reason this isn't a 2 star rating) If possible, go elsewhere for emergency services.

This is a very big and busy place. I've dealt with manty areas of the hospital and overall it amazes me it runs so smooth. People who work here are always helpful. Now the emergency department is another story. Always busy always a long wait.

Great hospital, has many services that you can't find any where else in the city (or even a few hours drive). To everyone complaining about wait times, contact your MP and let them know. It's budget cuts that are partly to blame. The other part is not understanding how the emerg system works. Everyone is given a colour (red, orange, yellow, green and blue). When you arrive, you are 'sorted' based on how serious the nurse, a medically trained individual, says the situation is. Red is life threatening (think loss of life or limb). The go down from there. If you go in with a cough or something else really minor, your gona get a green/blue lable. And you will keep getting pushed down as more serious cases will always go ahead of you. For those complaining about pain control issues, doctors have to give orders before a nurse can give you any thing. If you in the waiting room, and you have some type of pain medication on you (Tylenol, Advil etc) ask the triage nurse if you can take it. 99% of the time, they'll say yes. Same goes for any other medications you can buy at the drug store. It may not do much, but it's at least something. Only downside to Vic is the confusing layout of the hospital.

If I could give this hospital a minus star I would. The nurse who I spoke with (Erin) should not be in that line of work. She was rude and basically told me that there alot of other people waiting too. That I understand, however when you are in severe pain and they take someone who can get up and walk in just like that laughing and joking meanwhile I sat there with severe head pain I never had before. I have to say I would not even bring my dog to this hospital. You new that your job would be hectic, if you can't handle it miss Erin then perhaps you should try working on the back of a garbage truck, I will never ever go there again, I would die first.
